CFA Networks and Qbase merge operations, forecast substantial growth
DAYTON, Ohio -- June 24, 2008 - Qbase Inc., a fast-growing data management and analytics company headquartered in Ohio, announced Tuesday that it has acquired the assets of CFA Networks and its affiliated data warehousing and IT service companies.
Clients of Springfield-based CFA include corporate enterprises and also a large group of nonprofit organizations. The acquisition will allow Qbase to expand its solutions and enter new markets with the highly complementary services of CFA, said Bill Pardue, Qbase chief executive officer.
"Qbase first learned about CFA as one of its clients," Pardue said. "We found that the CFA team delivers great products with wonderful service. We are delighted now to bring their solutions to a much broader marketplace through our field sales organization."
CFA products and services include remote data storage; managed IT services; on-site software engineering capabilities; and data and voiceover internet protocol solutions. Pardue said that customers storing their data with CFA now can easily use Qbase data analytics for better decision making.
Craig Terrell, president of CFA, said he and partner Kevin Schleinitz look forward to teaming up with Qbase to bring a broader range of solutions to their more than 300 clients. Another benefit is the additional investment capital available through Qbase to enhance and expand solutions, Schleinitz said.
"This is a classic marriage made in heaven for our customers and our community," Terrell said. Terrell added that Qbase's strong performance for the U.S. Air Force and other federal clients offers an excellent avenue to introduce the newly acquired CFA solutions.
Qbase also has purchased the data center in which CFA has operated in downtown Springfield. The data center staff will continue operations there, though other CFA personnel will join the Qbase team in their new offices set to open next month at NextEdge Applied Research and Technology Park in Springfield. Qbase will continue substantial operations in Greene County, on Pentagon Boulevard.
The Ohio Department of Development played an important role in the acquisition through its innovative economic-development program in lending, Pardue said. He praised the leadership of Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher and his team in expanding state programs that previously did not encompass high-tech firms.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
